The Yamaha MT-15 is back for 2025, now looking sharper and with better performance than ever establishing itself as the best streetfighter in the 150cc industry. The naked bike is a pure reflection of R15 in terms of performance, mixed up with aggressive MT-series styling and inclined to entertain cornering, and now with features that appear even more appealing for city riders.
Bolder Than Ever Design
The 2025 MT-15 is also accompanied with an aggressive-looking front which comprises of redesigned air intake and LED headlight placement. Yamaha has also added two new colour schemes for this year – a Matte Steel Black with neon yellow and a Metallic Red. There’s the characteristic mass-forward styling language and, seen from the rear, the aluminium swingarm is visible, adding a nice premium feel to the street-ready pose it strikes.
Enhanced Performance
According to Yamaha, the 2025 model retains the 155cc liquid-cooled engine, but it has been re-tuned for more mid-range punch. City riding is now a bit easier, with the VVA-equipped engine now providing more linear power between 5,000-7,500rpm. Gear changes are as crisp as before from the 6-speed gearbox with the assist-and-slipper clutch, and it remains a relaxed ride in traffic.
Tech Upgrades for 2025
This year’s MT-15 also debuts Bluetooth connectivity, available through Yamaha’s Y-Connect system, which provides call alerts, SMS and email notification, as well as bike service/hour overview on the mobile phone. The digital instrument cluster gets a new layout and is now easier to read in direct sunlight. Some safety systems are also offered, such as dual-channel ABS for all versions for the first time.
Rider-Focused Ergonomics
2025: For 2025 Yamaha has adjusted the riding position somewhat, moving the handlebars 10mm closer to the rider for more control. For a bit more comfort on those longer rides, the seat foam has been re-calibrated. As far as the weight is concerned the MT-15 tips the scales at just 139kg (kerb weight), making it one of the lightest bikes in the segment and thus offering a quick flickable handling through the city streets.
Competitive Pricing
The 2025 Yamaha MT-15 price begins from ₹1.79 lakh (ex-showroom), which places it squarely in the territory of the KTM 125 Duke and the Bajaj Pulsar NS160. It’s a pricey-though-reasonably-priced pile of fun for a good reason – you’re looking at expensive bits like the R15-based frame, a better grade of suspension and, now, technology that justifies the cost.
The Complete Urban Warrior?
Further enhancing its appeal as the ideal combination of sportiness and practicality in 2025 is the all-new MT-15. With its aggro styling, potent engine, and now updated tech spread, it’s the perfect bike for young men and women on their way up who want their daily ride to be head turning and then provide enough excitement on weekends to make them the belles of the ball. Sure, the seat could be plusher (for very long rides), but that’s small potatoes for such a compelling package.
